A Dwarf Story, Part II
I know I left you all hanging a few months ago, I've been super busy with everything so I had to stop posting unfortunately. Now I'm back with updates!
If anyone hasn't read A Dwarf Story and would like to, the original post is here.
Let's get started. Our first four dwarfs were Jo-Jo, Bo-Bo, Lou-Lou, and Alice.
Jo-Jo is my daughter T's hamster. He's 7 months old now and he has the beadiest eyes and cutest little face. He's still a little wiggly to hold, but he has calmed down considerably. Here's a new photo of Jo-Jo!
Bo-Bo remains true to his character, and though he's not afraid to be picked up, he hides all. the. time. His cage is always neat as can be, with his burrow holes perfectly round and open, his food stash laid neatly. He burrows, but he never messes up his cage. It's a treat to see him, as he's our most elusive hamster. As a result, I have no current pictures of him! My apologies.
Next is Lou-Lou. Lou-Lou is my winter white coated girl. Turns out she's not a pearl at all, she's just really good at moulting! Here are a series of photos showing Lou-Lou going through her stages.
Lou-Lou when I got her last fall, she was just starting to go into her winter coat.
Winter coat. She was only white for a month or two!
Here she is moulting into her summer coat. Her moult ended up looking rather mosaic.
Ta-da! Complete summer coat. I took these photos just before posting. She's a totally different hamster now!

Re: A Dwarf Story, Part II
Lastly for today, we'll do Alice! Alice is my heart hamster. She hears my voice, she comes running. She tries to climb into my hands at all costs. If I try to put her down as soon as I pick her up, she refuses to hop off my hand, she turns her nose around and parks her butt. Once in my hands, she demands petting. She will sit there forever while I stroke her head, cheek pouches, back, and flanks. She loves kisses and attention, she always looks like she feels so special when she gets some.
The other day I was out cutting some fresh grass for the hamsters, and Alice seemed SO excited about it that I decided to take her outside. I took the basket with the rest of the grass in it, put her in, and off we went. Once outside, I let her freely explore the yard. My husband was amazed when he saw us, and here's why: I could put Alice down anywhere, and she would run back to me and climb into my lap. I just let her run around as much as she wanted, and she refused to go more than one or two feet away from me. If I put her away from me, she'd come right back. She hopped in and out of the basket, ran all around me, climbed up me, into my hands. She had a good time.
I was enjoying the nice day with her so much, I didn't bother getting pictures. However I do have at least one I'm sure I haven't shared before. Here's Alice!

Re: A Dwarf Story, Part II
I had promised individual photos of the litters that these four hamsters had, and I have come back to keep that promise! I'm excited to introduce all of our babies. I just don't have time to write a lot these days, so I'll try to let the photos do the talking. When I left off in the last thread, Alice's second litter was getting close to weaning. So let's get caught up - quickly - and then proceed with photos!
Altogether, we have had five litters of dwarf hamsters! Alice has had three; the first was 6 pups, the second was 8, and her third was also 8! The first litter was born January 1, the second was born January 21, and the father of these litters is Bo-Bo. The third was a surprise litter born April 16. Alice "magically" found a way to jump the fence and get into her son Harry's cage. I found them soon after and crossed my fingers, but it was too late.
Lou-Lou finally had two litters with Jo-Jo, and Jo-Jo even helped rear pups. She never chased him away; I took him out to prevent a third back-to-back litter. Lou-Lou's first litter was 4, and her second was 8! The first litter was born March 16, and the second litter followed on April 2.
If anyone has questions, feel free to ask! I'm happy to satisfy your curiosity, and I love talking about these guys. For now, pictures of everyone!

Here's the whole litter at 13 days. The lighter of the three agoutis was named Scrappy - he was adopted quickly because of his outgoing personality, so this is the only photo I have of him!
Peanut
Redwood
Acorn
Marigold
Pumpkin
Penny
Blue
The best pics usually come from the hamster table...I'll have to keep updating you guys. It's been busy!

The heaven is for real, Drago! Our whole family is always holding hamsters. <3
I'm also learning loads. It's been amazing, truly.
I forgot I can't go back and edit posts. Here's Moji!
I also got better pictures of Redwood and Blue, I'm thinking of keeping these two, but we'll see what happens.
