Glad you were able to find Quigley! I felt a little dumb for thinking that he could have escaped but I just wanted to check to put my mind at ease.

It sure is rewarding when they start trusting you- it's also a relief. I though tangerine was going to be one of those look-don't-touch hams which I'd be ok with that but it would be disappointing. Thankfully though Key Lime is a brave little boy and we've been building a good bond. This morning he took treats from me, this time I put them closer to my palm rather on my fingertips. He was confident enough to take them so I think next time I'll put the treats on my palm and see if I can lift him off the ground.

I felt the same way, but I couldn't relax until I'd made absolutely certain, so I know what you mean.

Tangerine sounds like he's doing really well. You've been so patient with him! I think a lot of the time people just give up with robos, sadly.

Thanks! Patience really is the key with robos. It is sad how people think they're untamable or just get them "because they're cute" but are soon disappointed to see that their new hams are super skittish. I was getting really discouraged with Tangerine but after last night I felt so much better! I think the harder it is to tame a hamster the more rewarding it is when they start to trust you.

Key Lime-
Mommy put these new things in my cage- what are they called? Stoat prays? No, that can't be it... oh yeah, oat sprays! Silly me! Anyways- she said they were only for decoration, however I wanted to give them a little taste, and ended up feasting on oats for dinner! Yum! Much better than those stale green pellets I left near my new litter box

Also, some toys magically appeared in my cage! I was a little confused because my wheel had disappeared, and in its place was a house without walls! Is that even a thing? Mom kept saying stuff about "platforms"- maybe that is the name of this strange wall-less house. I didn't know I could go on top of it, I probably wouldn't have figured it out if Mom hadn't put some of my favorite treats- pumpkin seeds- leading up on top of it! I also have this fun new house. Much to mommy's delight the first thing I did when I woke up was explore it and make a new tunnel inside of it, going to my burrow. She also gave me this new chew- she said it was a Whimsy. Thank you! He sure is a lucky hammy lol! His brother got the luxury of a few new toys last week so I thought Key Lime deserved something too. He's loving his new platform and house- and has indulged in some oat sprays

I must keep up with this thread better. I somehow always miss it - probably because it is in the hamster chat section, rather than the robos section. That set up looks really great! Did you make that house, because it is incredible? And Key Lime is looking lovely too, of course

so tiny and adorable looking out of that toilet roll tube. Just reminds you how small robos are. Have you any idea how much your boys weigh? They must be miniscule! I don’t think they are fully grown yet either, are they, if I remember correctly?
