I'd like to embark on a little project, and I need your help. I promise it will only take a minute or two of your time.

I know that we already have a thread dedicated to average hamster weights. However, what I have not been able to find, either here or anywhere else on the internet, is a chart tracking the average hamster's weight week by week from birth (or near enough) to adulthood. And I think this would be a really useful resource.

So, what do I need?

1. Your hamster's weight.
- Also, if your hamstet is fully grown, please state when it reached its full weight, if known.
2. Your hamster's age (or closest estimate)
3. Your hamster's gender.
4. Whether your hamster is from a breeder or a pet shop.

Breeders: If you have them, please can you provide any weight records you have of pups from their first weigh in to adulthood, or otherwise up until the age they left you. Again, please provide genders and note an age for each weight.

Using the averages of this data, I envisage being able to make multiple weight charts tracking growth from babyhood to adulthood. For example:
- All hamsters.
- All breeder hamsters.
- All pet shop hamsters.
- All females.
- All males.
- All female pet shop hams.
- All male pet shop hams.
- All female breeder hams.
- All male breeder hams.

However, what charts I am able to make will depend on how many responses I get. Also, I do understand that I am unlikely to get data for the early weeks of pet shop hams' lives, whereas there will hopefully be breeders here who can supply that information regarding their past pups. So, the breeders growth charts I might be able to make will likely be better informed and more complete.

JLPrairie: 46g is tiny for 7 months! Is your girl a dwarf, or did you mean 146g?

I believe Titania is a Russian dwarf correct? It would make sense why she's only 46 grams in that case

Age: At the pet shop they told me that he was 3 or 4 months old when I bought him, but they weren't very sure, if that was true now he is between 11 and 12 months old. He always weighed the same

I'm not 100% certain her weight is correct, but we are off to the vets later so I will update with what they say she is. I dont think it can be right, surely?

Ok. Phew. She is not obscenely fat, my scales are broken hahaha. She weighs 160kg. Clearly I need new scales
