Re: 30 Days of April
Aww... Rogue is so cute! Wish I had a dog, the closest I'll ever get to a dog is 2 feet before I start sneezing uncontrollably.

Re: 30 Days of April
Your champions and grand champion look absolutely stunning especially Angel and Griff. That trip sounds wonderful - I'm looking forward to seeing who you bring home! Hope Queenie is better soon too. Love the photo you took with your new lens that hamster has such an adorable little nose! Those baby doops look so sweet snuggled up together! Lovely video of Rogue too!

Re: 30 Days of April
I'm looking forward to what I bring home too - I have some hammies reserved but I've found it's often a bit hit and miss as to what I actually get. I can understand that now I've been getting all the messages asking if I have this or that to bring; the bigger breeders must be overwhelmed with enquiries! Also with animals you never can tell 100% beforehand that everyone you plan to take will be suitable to take on the day, as I've found with Queenie.
I got carried away yesterday with my preparations so didn't get round to taking extra photos - sorry! But I now have all the carriers (and spare carriers for anticipated extras ) filled with substrate, bedding, food and dog biscuit and stacked in folding crates for transport. I've also got all the paperwork, vet forms and pedigrees printed and copied, and Rogue and Queenie all packed ready for the pet sitter. Rogue's made sure he's got his beauty sleep in preparation for his weekend away!

So, before I start getting out cages for the newbies and doing the food, water and checks of everyone I thought I'd share a photo of the hamster room:

This is one of my storage areas. I love things on wheels, like my purple drawers, in the hamster room as it makes cleaning underneath so much easier. This area is where the mixed food lives: Campbell and duprasi food in the plastic boxes on top of the drawers and general hamster food in the big purple bin. To minimise spilling and sweeping I put a smaller amount of food in the white pail and then put scoops in the cages from there. My box of cardboard lives by the door - sometimes I even manage to toss cardboard boxes and tubes directly into the box from the other side of the baby gate in the doorway, but usually I miss and end up having to put it in properly!

The drawers need tidying, but here's what's in them:

I love your purple drawer unit... where did it come from (I'm looking for one for my hamster room)?

Eek at the dooplets - mega cuteness.
Poor Queenie, hope she's feeling better soon.
Rogue getting his beauty sleep so cute. Why did you call him Rogue?

Re: 30 Days of April
Your hamster room looks very organised and tidy. You also have the same 2017 hamster calendar as we do lol.

It's from the Really Useful Box website

He already had the name Loveable Rogue when he came to me. He's called many things: Roguey Poguey, RoPo, HRH, puppy, monkey-mouse, pickle-pants, the dog-faced dog. It depends what he's up to at the time

I hope it stays tidy! I suspect it will do until the Houten hammies finish their quarantine in the living room and move in - then it'll look packed!
This afternoon I've been busy with my preparations and am now having a cuppa before setting off. The car's ready and all the empty carriers are tucked inside. Putting the stickers on the headlights was a pain but it's sorted now.

Some quarantine cages are set up on the dining table ready for our return. They're handy little tubs for temporary caging while I learn what sort of permanent cage would suit the newbies best.

Everyone in the hammy room has been fed, watered and checked. They all went back to bed when I'd finished and only sleepy Sue toddled out for a quick pic.

So instead here are a couple of random hammy room pics:

ETA: Drago, currently have 18 Chinese hamsters. I started the month with 19, but lost two today (run free, wee Origami and Indy) plus acquired Runes at Dawlish. Ask me again on Monday though

Re: 30 Days of April
Sorry to hear about Origami & Indy, run free at the bridge little ones.
Look forward to seeing who you have by Monday!
No matter how often I tidy my ham stuff it never seems to look that organised!
I so want to raid your book shelves Vectis!
