Those are really interesting pictures, the noses are so cute

Re: 30 Days of April
I love macro photos. I also had a len for my mobile phone and I spent hours taking photos to the silliest things. I don't think I could be fast enough to shoot my hammie's nouse tough. Brilliant!
The video is adorable. He is a very smart boy

Re: 30 Days of April
Love the little nose close ups! I'm guessing no.4 is some kind of string too.
I think I might have to get one of those lenses to play with now, love macro.

Re: 30 Days of April
Love the guesses - thanks for playing along
1 is Rogue's nose. 2 is Rogue's ear. 3 is a duprasi nose. 4 is a rug close up (I used to have a rug in the hamster room but then got bored of removing substrate and food from it - so Rogue brings substrate and hamster food from the hamster room onto the rug in the living room for me instead!)
I'm loving the lenses on my phone and, like you Hamsterita, have been taking photos of all sorts of things.

Re: 30 Days of April
I do love noses, especially when they're twitching.

Re: 30 Days of April
Today was the Hereford show so the hammies, woof and I left home at 7am. We arrived just after half past nine with plenty of time to bench the show team.

These are the hammies in the show pen carrier with the sand box, pen labels and my show book. The sand box is handy for anyone looking a bit ruffled (I didn't have time to do it before leaving home). When I get my pen labels I check I have all the labels I need and that the duplicates are as I planned. I then pop the right label on the right hamster's pen and note down the number in my book alongside their name - there's space for their score and any awards that I fill in later. Here they are all ready to go on the show bench.

There were a lot of Chinese hamsters there today and I'm happy with my 2nd BEW Chinese and 3rd dom spot Chinese with Helen and King, who have now been paired. Appley and Runes hope their day is yet to come!

The hammies may not have won much but I did really well on the tombola!

ps - did anyone else see the NHC's journal as the guest publication on Have I Got News For You last night?

Re: 30 Days of April
So far so good for Helen and King. I managed to wear Rogue out yesterday with sniffing, training and some parkour round the hall so he's mostly been snoozing today while I've been busy in the hamster room.
The hamster room was looking a little untidy after taking loads of spare cages down and had the empty Houten carriers all over, not to mention the usual post-show debris. I've been ever so productive in cleaning and tidying away all the empty carriers, then I mixed up batches of food for the hamsters, Campbells and duprasi. I thought I'd do that before any tidying as I usually make a mess! As it involved food, Rogue had to supervise

I tidied the medicine drawer (and discovered a few things had expired so will have to replace those later in the week) and also my cleaning kit. I didn't find the paintbrush for dusting the show pens that I've misplaced, but I did find several sets of nail clippers I'd forgotten I had!

I then went round and did a feed, water and check of everyone and spot cleaned 1/3 of the hamster room. A few wheels have got squeaky so hopefully the oil will sort them out and help for quieter nights! I find a syringe a more accurate way of applying a few drops as I used to get oil everywhere otherwise.

Delphic was helpful in feeding - he felt all the food should be in his own cage. Or, better yet, he'd just move into the food box!

Everyone got a helping of vitamin mash which was pounced on by everyone. I use the cake cases as it saves washing up loads of little bowls, and the hamsters enjoy ripping the cases and adding them to their nests.
