It looks like you had a wonderful time at Houten, so lovely to see so many photos from the show - the reptiles look so interesting and so sweet seeing the cute cuddly animals too especially the hamster, rat and African Pygmy dormouse.
I never myself driven on the wrong side (right) of the road but it so strange when I been on holiday with my parent driving on the wrong side (right) of the road - well my mum did try driving on the left in America but we quickly reminded her she should be on the right!
Love the baby duprasis - they are absolutely adorable I especially like the 3rd and 4th pictures! Lyra looks so sweet and cuddly!

I love doops so much! How many of those little guys do you have in total? It's been a dream of mine to own them
I have 8 adults plus the pups (and I plan to keep one, perhaps two, depending on how they are looking):
Daisy and Osprey, two rescue girls
Altair and Dobby, two lads who are on my show/breeding plans
Lyra, mum to the Dobly pups
Vela, Regor and Aquila, the newbies from Houten who are in quarantine
The Dobly pups
I also have a new lad who will be coming to me at the end of the month whose dad is brother to Lyra but whose mum is unrelated.
Speaking of new arrivals, I'm hoping Kittiwake will be helping to add to the baby boom here at Vectis. She's been in with her husband, Wellington's Denmark, since the start of the month so the first Vectis winter white litter may be on its way before the month ends Denmark is on loan so will be going back to his home. There's a show on Saturday so tonight's the last night to decide who I'm entering in the main show. Entries close at 9pm but I'm early for once as I'm going out this evening (most entries sneak in within an hour of the deadline in my experience as show secretary!) To decide who to enter, I take myself into the hamster room and look at the cages to make a shortlist. I add to the list anyone who may be suitable to show, and leave off hamsters who are too old, the dark greys who have browned, the hamsters who are potentially pregnant or who have litters, and anyone who is otherwise not eligible to show, like poor Nobby who lost his tail in an attempted pairing for breeding purposes and Scrappy who has only 3 legs (missing tails/legs are grounds for disqualification). I then take the hammies on the shortlist out of their cages and look to see if they are in good enough condition to show and to make sure that there is no reason to not take them. I discounted the Mally boys as they have got a little middle-age spread now (!) and decided to leave Centaur at home as a) his cinnamon colour isn't very good due to him carrying cream and dark grey and b) I have a show pen carrier that fits 4 pens and one that fits 6 pens. If I take 5 pens in the 6 pen carrier then those on the top are at risk of moving during the journey. As Centaur's not likely to do well in the SH AOC male class which has been very strong recently, it's better he stays at home and I can just take the 4 pen carrier.
Having been show secretary, I know it makes things a lot easier to include only relevant information (names, colours, species etc. aren't needed in the entry email), and to put the entries in order of the straight class (D8, D9, D10) rather than in the order of when I thought of the hamster in making the shortlist!
I have rather a soft spot for him, he was such a good boy when he stayed here. His ex-wife Victoria and his son Matthew send lots of hugs and kisses his way.
That's why I hate to organize things, it's not only in shows, people always leave things for the last minute, and then you end up overwhelmed when you have little time to resolve issues
Kittiwake is a beauty, fingers crossed for some lovely little WW's soon.

Kitti is so cute, and if she has pups they will be adorable I'm sure The people who live near breeders are so lucky. I love my boys to bits but it would be nice to see the differences in the WW's and Campbells to the hybrids
Do people leave their entries to the last minute to make sure the ones they are thinking of entering are looking at their best?

I think that is one reason. Another is that it's a work night so I know I often have a panic at about 8.30pm when I've forgotten to do it!
Tonight I have some random pictures taken with my new macro lens. I had planned some photos of my black-eyed white Chinese hammies but the traffic on the way back from Rogue's hydrotherapy was awful so I ran out of time.
