Default is this safe for hamsters?

Hi hamster central
I really want to make DIY stuff out of lolly sticks, but I just want to make sure that the stuff im using is safe for hamsters.
. Lolly sticks
Are they safe? If my hamster swallows a piece will he choke or will it not agree with it's stomach?
.Elmers glue
If it says non- toxic does it mean that its safe for hamsters?

The stick itself is simply tightly wrapped paper and thus in theory is safe, but unless you can get plain packaged sticks I would recommend popsicle sticks instead as used lollipop stocks can have sugary residue that isn't good for them. All in all, popsicle sticks would be much better than lollipop sticks. The glue you want to use is perfectly safe

Not sure where you are but in the UK we call the wooden ones lolly sticks in the US popsicle sticks so it can be a bit confusing! Plain wooden ones & the glue are fine.

Elmer's school glue is supposed to be the safe one A lot of people have made things from wood lolly sticks/popsicle sticks - they are fine to chew - but I think it's important to make sure they're made quite sound and strong so they can't collapse and injure a hammy.

Elmer's is the safest storebought glue you can get in my experience Keep in mind that just because something says non-toxic does not mean it is non-toxic to hamsters,as humans are very different in terms of what is toxic to them compared to what is toxic to hamsters. However, this is one of those cases where it is a product that is completely fine to use

If you can get them from a drugstore try using hardwood tongue depressors, they are wider and stronger than popsicle sticks, I have tried them and used PVA glue the kind they use in infant/kindergarten schools as it is safe being non toxic.

What about hot glue? Any thoughts or experiences? I'm concerned that Ivy will chew it.
