Hah! They can be sneaky like that.
I've only had one male who wasn't a 'show-er', but he was also long-haired which helped hide things, which is why I asked as little Chance is short-haired (and looks so, so soft...).
My current one is rather rude and shows his off all the time, and it's especially obvious as he's a balding old man (27 months, super-thin fur with bald patches which makes his 'Fluffy' name ironic, yet still acts 1 year old).

Wow 27 months old! He sounds like such a fun old man! I've mostly only ever had female hams, but the few males I've had have all definitely been show-ers!

Re: My snowy ham, Chance
Snowy Ham's great escape!
Chance has been settling in very well and his mischievous personality is coming out much more! He LOVES burrowing in his bin so I've added about 12 inches of bedding and he's gone crazy for it. I plan to buy him a bin with some good height so he can have even more bedding to dig around in. He's also got a new sandbath, which he doesn't really understand the concept of, he simply puts his hind legs in the jar and pees before walking away... silly ham! Today while his owner was working hard to fix his wheel which he decided to break Chance took the opportunity to sneak out of his bin! Luckily the room Chance is kept in is totally ham-proofed and uses for free ranging! He made it a whole three minutes of hiding before his owner panicked and tore apart the room to find him. He decided to play a fun game of "let's wedge myself under the dresser so my owner can't put me back"! Here are some pictures of his short lived taste of freedom

Re: My snowy ham, Chance
Cheeky little man!
All that burrowing space sounds great for him & peeing in the sand bath isn't such a bad thing, each to their own I guess
He does sound as though he's enjoying life

Chance is beautiful! Haha my last hamster ran under the fridge. She was fine but a pain to get her out again. Chance seems to enjoy the freedom

Oh wow and I thought it was a pain to lure Chance out! Hamsters sure are mischievous little creatures I've found
