Smile To reuse or not to reuse

Hi all!

So in my hamster tank I have been using a super cute mug that is red with white hearts on it and my little Pickles loves to sit in it to groom herself or cool down. For Valentine's Day I'm also going to be putting in this pink jar I have into her cage.

My question is though, after I'm done using these things in her cage would I be able to use them again? Obviously I would have to sanitize and wash them thoroughly, but would I personally be able to use the mug again as well as the jar for flowers, decor, etc? I'm not sure if this is a dumb question or not, but I'm not sure how the bacteria and all that stuff works between hamsters and humans.

Thanks for any answers (:

Once sanitized they'd be completely fine for human use, though I'd still say probably not to drink out of in the case of the mug.

It will definitely be fine, a wash or two in the dishwasher will clean the bacteria right off. I've reused mugs from my ham's cages

Okay! I will probably deep sanitize and put it through the dishwasher a few times before use if I do use it!

That all sounds like a bit over the top to me! With glazed ceramics you really don't need to worry, you could give them a spray with some disinfectant then just wash as you would any cup (for yourself or the hams) if giving it back to the ham then I would suggest giving a thorough rinse by hand to remove any residues left from washing.
It's only porous things or natural materials like wood/coconuts etc you would need to be concerned about removing any bacteria or scent.
