Default New Member and New Hammie!

Hi,
I'm Angela and a new member. I posted in the introduction. I've narrowed my species choice to Syrian and Robo. My Last three hamsters were rescued Syrians. I love Syrians, but haven't had a cute Robo in a long time. I will probably buy the Lixit Animal Care Slavic Mickey 2 Mice and Dwarf Hamster Cage. I can't find many good hamster cages here. Thank you for reading. Any and all comments and suggestions will be appreciated!

Welcome. The Savic cage is a good size. The wire ladder and shelf are best removed in case the hamster gets it's leg caught between the bars. Or it could be covered over to make a solid ramp and shelf.

All the best with your new hamster.

Welcome aboard! Wish I could suggest a good dwarf cage, but my expertise is in Syrians. Looking forward to seeing your new little one

Hi Welcome along to HC,
Being a Syrian Owner I am a tad biased, I'm sure you will love and enjoy what ever type you choose to invest your love and care in.

Good to hear! I use my 40 gallon tank because there are no spaces she might get out of (personal, you do not need to get a 40 gallon it was only a suggestion)

If you do get a tank be aware that your hamster might still chew things that should not be chewed. If there is any way for a hamster to climb a water bottle for example, they will, which can lead to chewing the plastic rim of a glass tank. This is very harmful, but could be avoided.

Thank you. That's something serious to think about.
