Default Should I rescue a new hamster?

My sweetest Shiitake passed away on Wednesday and I'm struggling at the sight of her cage empty. I always find getting a new hamster helps and feel that in a few more days I'll be ready to welcome a new member to my hamily.
I was recently at a petshop where I saw a little Dwarf being bullied by its cage mates and told the staff. When they took him out of the cage his paw was severely injured and bleeding and he had a scar on the left side of his face over his eye(surprisingly his eye looked to be fine and not damaged at all).
My heart was broken as she said she was just going to put him out back in a box until he stopped bleeding. They will probably just dump him back in with his bullies.
I am compelled to help this little hamster and feel its the right thing to do as an experienced owner. I've rescued injured rodents in the past, but this feels different as its so close to the death of a beloved pet.
I just question if its the right thing to do? Would I be disrespecting my Shiitake by putting a new pet in her home?
I like getting the opinions of other hamster owners so please post what you think?
Im 50/50 on getting him and I have everything I need anyways?

Then do it, get a new Hammy,we did when Forrest was PTS it is the best thing, we got Pip as when I walked past the cages where the Hams where she was the only one who took notice, it kind of said to me she needs to go home with you.
So I did and that was that...
Pip says Hi waves a paw

My beloved dexter passed away on the 18th after having him for 2 years and 4 months
I wasn't going to get another till February but of course life happens and I met Blu (now called Margot) and adopted her just 10 days after Dexters passing
It felt a little wrong so soon after dexter but I feel good for having adopted her and she's already a part of a family now

If you feel it's the right thing to do by this hamster then please do it I say!

I kind of think they choose you, rather than the other way round. As you already feel you have the time, money and housing needed to be a responsible owner then the main question is does it feel right to you? You're obviously still thinking about him. I don't think it's disrespectful to the memory of one hamster to not want to see an empty cage and to pass that love on to another animal in need. We can't rescue every needy ham nor bring home every cute one we feel sorry for but if you feel there was a connection and he's the right little ham for you then I don't really think it matters if it's two days, two weeks or two months. I'm sorry about Shitake x
