Using sand from the outdoors,including beaches,is not safe It would be exposed to lots of chemicals and potential toxins,or even residue from pesticides.Even if sterilized it wouldn't be anywhere near as safe as using either Supreme Science sand or sterilized play sand.
I think any pet owner has made some sort of mistake at any point,even those who are very educated and do lots of research!Even I have made some mistakes,and come close to mistakes,but as long as possible mistakes are prevented and current mistakes are fixed you are doing great
