Re: How to tame a hamster.
You'd just need to use the same method anyways, but allow the hamster to get used to both of you instead of just one person.

Re: How to tame a hamster.
It's best to let your hammy adjust to its cage for a few days, maybe 3-4 days. Depends on the hamster.

Re: How to tame a hamster.
You can both put unscented toilet paper up your sleeve for a while. This gets your scent onto the tissue. Then tear the tissue into strips and put them in your hamsters cage. The hamster gets to smell both your scents from the tissue and often uses the tissue to build a sleeping nest.

Re: How to tame a hamster.
Don't rush the taming process. Let your hamster/you practise each step until you all are confident before moving onto the next step.
If you get a hamster from a breeder they are usually handled from a young age, so are less scared, making taming easier.
Pet shop hamster may not have been handled as much, so taming can take longer.
