sigh... I love the little fluff, but do you know how it sounds when she drags stones into her wheel and tries to run while they are still in there? and as if that isn't enough she is currently, and not for the first time, building a nest in the stones, under the waterbottle!

Sometimes I think that they make things like that on purpose to mess with us hahahaha

Blacky had to be a musician in another life ( a drummer or something like that), he doesn't move the rocks, but he's been putting his food on his wheel lately, and then he enjoys running on it, waking me up every night. he's a sweetie, isn't he?

I would be worried about the nest tough, if moving the nest doesn't work try to move the waterbottle instead.

They can drive you crazy with the things they put in their wheels! I think a whole walnut in the shell is about the noisiest thing I've had.

I would be inclined to take the stones out though or she may end up hurting herself.

Oh, the stones came out immediately!

As for the nest, that was pure black mail.. she wanted her shelf back, which i had taken out to fix a bit.
As soon as i put it back in she crawled straight in under it and went to sleep.

Lol! That's so funny! The things they do! Twinkle used to take her large toothbrush whimzee on her flying saucer and of course it would fly off across the cage when she starting running and then look at me when I burst out laughing!

That sounds hilarious she has been very odd lately. Nothing concerning just extra odd but she is back on good terms with aggie, and that is very nice to see

Zelda was a very good girl at the vets the other day. she had her nails clipped and she didn't even bite once
So when we got home she got a BIG reward

She was perfectly proportional before she got the treat, afterwards she was simply just FatFace!

And I cleaned her cage today, which she did not like. I had to sit at the playpen feeding her sunflower seeds one by one for half an hour before she calmed down enough for me to continue the cleaning.
anyways, I redecorated her cage and I can't figure out if it's enough, too little or too much, so I would appreciate your oppinion.

It should be noted that she is a digger. so most of the time she will sleep buried somewhere rather than in a house, which is why i thought i would try her with a digging tower house instead of just a cage filled to the brim with substrate. I'm thinking it would be a lot easier to spot clean since she won't be all over the place all the time.
there's still enough substrate for her to tunnel in, just not to bury herself in a mountain of substrate.

Omg. I'm dead. Zelda looks like she could be Alice and Lou-Lou's sister. Plus, the gaming reference. Haha.

There is so much cute and hamster happiness on this thread. I love it.

Plus, thanks for the ideas for hamster toys and furniture! The cage and playpen look super awesome!

Thank you, and you're welcome

she has quite a personality. for better or worse. we call her an opinionated lady

Zelda is one of the boyfriends favourite games and he always gets quite nostalgic talking about it. He picked her, and named her
