Re: Zelda and the cowardly walnut!
she can lift the lid, but she can't turn it. I opened it a little so she could smell it and she just started licking the inside. it went on for a long time. she kept coming back to it

Re: Zelda and the cowardly walnut!
Some of my hybrids have been very noisy sleepers making all sorts of squeaking sort of noises but nothing I'd describe as a screech, if she's ok otherwise though I wouldn't worry too much.

Re: Zelda and the cowardly walnut!
it was her usual crackling electricity when she is not happy with something. we took her out and she is totally fine, but it went on for a while.
we checked her nest, there was nothing, her pee was normal, her poo was normal and she didn't react to being touched so no pain.
that's why we think it must have been a nightmare.
she emerged totally sleepy, eyes not even open, took a sunflower seed but didn't realize it for a while, so she just sad there with the seed sticking out her mouth until she woke up a bit.

Re: Zelda and the cowardly walnut!
My ham is totally mute so I'm not really the best one to interpret hamster's sounds. I'm glad she seems to be ok.

Re: Zelda and the cowardly walnut!
Harvey's had one but not screeching. I remember hearing him and I sat by his cage and spoke softly to him telling him it's ok, his mom was here and that I wouldn't let anything hurt him. The noises did get quieter as I continued talking.

Re: Zelda and the cowardly walnut!
Zelda has gotten an adorable new habit. We noticed she started to get very interested in our lips, seems like she realized it tends to smell of food there we started encouraging her a little, placing sunflower seeds just on the edge of the lips.
Now, when i take her out she will actually walk up to my chest and stretch her front paws up to my chin an give me a kiss. It's adorable
She hasn't nibbled me yet, but i am sure she will the minute i get distracted. It's still really sweet though

Re: Zelda and the cowardly walnut!
I wonder what zelda has been up to last night
The funny thing is if i look in her stash i will find most of the insides to those shells. For some reason she opens sunflower seeds just for fun
