With more than one hamster to find presents for and them being particular about what type of toys they like, I actually made them little treat parcels and filled them with their favourite food and treats. The intention was that they'd chew through the paper to get to the treats inside.

To show you what I mean, here's the video of Lady May with hers:

Another idea which I saw during my last visit to Vectis was a treat kebab: Treat k Bob on Sale | Free UK Delivery | PetPlanet.co.uk

I bought one the other day for Jessie and have swapped some of the wooden chews (which I know she'll ignore) for other treats. It keeps her occupied and she likes rattling the little bell on the end. Rosewood sell a similar product without the bell if you're worried about Sweep chewing the bell.

I think some walnuts or a walnut cake would make an excellent gift for Mr Sweep. I definitely will be investing in some of P@H toys. After the holiday is over, there is a massive price cut and there's no shame in buying his presents then (unless there is something that really catches your eye, then I would just buy it).

I am planning on giving Jasper a Christmas theme cage so that will be all his presents apart from a possible hamster-safe roast dinner.

Jasper seems to love his piece of corkwood (currently sleeping under there) so maybe get one for Sweep? It helps trim their nails and looks really nice.

What is the corkwood? I have seen some nice Christmassy things I could use for a cage theme, but not sure Sweep would fit in them! I don't think we'll be having a roast dinner on Christmas

Jasper has a flat version of this

You could just give Sweep some plain boiled chicken/turkey with some porridge or baby food and walnut as a treat, not forgetting veggies. That would make a nice Christmas dinner for him. Or just plain walnuts?

I like the idea Fluffagrams had, but Sweep wouldn't know what to do with it! I tried something like this once with him and he ignored it!
The person I am living with doesn't celebrate Christmas and is likely to be away anyway so no Christmas for me But Sweep might actually love me forever if I give him an extra walnut LOL

Stick with walnuts then. You can never go wrong with them in Sweep's opinion .

I'll tell you when I start Christmas-ham/guinea pig shopping and what ideas I have when I buy them. I guess wait until more places start releasing stuff. If it makes you feel any better, my local Hobbycraft have a year-round Christmas section

LOL!
Has Santa Paws informed you whether or not Jasper has been good? Sweep insisted on having a VERY lengthy chat with Santa Paws to give Christmas demands!

Santa Paws informed me Jasper has been VERY good. Any wrong-doings have been forgiven because he is just THAT cute as you may remember . Jasper has lots of demands which I give in to a lot.

I am hoping that when I go to the States in a few weeks that I can bring back some stuff from US pet stores for my piggies and Jasper. Possibly Christmas related.
