Talking LOVING the hamster life

I just wanted to take a couple of minutes to ramble on (to like minded people) about how much I am LOVING my first hamster experiences

As a first time hamster owner, I didn't really know what to expect. I had heard so many stories about bitey hamsters, especially dwarf hams, but my little winter white (Archie) is just DELIGHTFUL

Archie is a rather uncomplicated little creature. He seems to be constantly merry, always happily pottering about his cage.

I have had him for about 2 months. We're at the point now where I can open his cage lid and call his name a few times - he'll emerge from his house all squinty (because I've just woken him up) and he'll wander straight over to my hand to be picked up

Archie is just great and has been a wonderful introduction to hamsters for me. Good job Archie

Aww, that's great you're having such a great time with your first hamster! I highly doubt this will be your only one :P I saw your signature. I ended up rescuing some mice myself. A mum and 4 babies. Shortly after I ended up raising that number to 11 mice because I fell so in love with them!

Aww that's so blooming lovely hearing how much you're enjoying being a first time hamster owner and that you and Archie are bonding.

I also doubt Archie will be the only hamster in my life, but right now I definitely only have room for one hamster at a time hehe.

badwolf that's awesome that you have mice now. They're amazing little things. Shyer than hamsters perhaps, but amazingly agile and intelligent. I adore them!

Some of my mice are shyer than others. The ones that have been handled since birth are the cheekiest little things ever!!! Drake is kinda like a small hyper dog lol I recommend mice to everyone now!

That is great he likes being picked up My new dwarf is letting me do that already. The taming process is significantly easier with this one!

I think it all depends on the individual animal, since every animal can have their own personality and their own likes and dislikes

Mice are definitely tempting once you start looking into getting them!I'm even going to get a male as soon as I have the cage I want and get everything set up
