having a sad day
Hi all
I've not really posted much but I wanted to say that I'm absolutely gutted at finding myself without a hamster again.
Captain passed away yesterday and I'm lost. He was such a sweet guy and a rescue so his age was never really know. He was looking ill. I just woke up to finding him forever asleep.
Rest in peace my little friend

Re: having a sad day
I'm so sorry boxedmoon, it's always hard to lose a ham, they make such a big impact on us & give us so much to love, it's very sad that Captain was with you for such a short time but at least you gave him the home he deserved & the chance to end his days happily & loved, try to take comfort in knowing that he didn't suffer long & is at peace now.

Re: having a sad day
I don't know why God gave them so short lives. Maybe it was so we could love more of them. When I was a little girl, my Dad taught me the only way for my broken heart to heal was to give it to another beloved pet. So when you are ready, give you loving heart to another of God's beautiful creatures. Captain was adorable! Bless you in your loss.

Re: having a sad day
I have 20 pets at the moment, most of them small furries, so I'm going to have a lot of loss to deal with. It'll be hard, but as long as I've helped them have a good and happy life... Well, that's what's important. That's what makes me feel better. You did an amazing thing rescuing him. I hope focusing on the better life you gave him helps you feel better.

Re: having a sad day
So sorry to hear about your loss. Take comfort in your other pets. You gave Captain a happy and loving home after you rescued him. You changed his life and made it a very happy one.
Big Hugs xx
