hamsters smell
Have any of you with multiple hamster noticed that some have a different scent to others. Not thinking it's an thing like diabetes. Just a different smell in scent and wee.

Re: hamsters smell
I've noticed that my girls smell very differently to James, particularly when one of them is on heat But I've not noticed a real difference between the two girls.

Re: hamsters smell
My Chinese ham smells more than my others. I think I got lucky with my Syrian as she doesn't smell more when she's on heat like I know others have found with theirs. But I know what you mean as my robo's cage had a different smell than my Syrian or Chinese. Not that I go round inhaling cages but when you're trying to locate where your lovely little demon has decided to start peeing.... (Oh man, I'm going to get a reputation now as some sort of phantom cage sniffer.)

James has his own smell that's different from the girls but I've not got another boy at the moment to compare him to. The Chineseys cages do smell quite different to my sister's hybrid but the only time I really tend to notice it is when Sooty has come to stay. I guess I've got used to it over the years.
