Default missing hamster

My daughter's dwarf hamster escaped from her ball a couple of days ago. Despite a finger tip search of the entire house including every small space every shoe/pocket /cupboard /box/coat and leaving good and water the hamster has not re-appeared. My concern is that it has got behind the cooker and into a small crack in the plaster. Any tips?

Try leaving some food and water out by that crack and see if he comes for it. If you live in an apartment block then alert your neighbours as he could have got through vents and things like that. I hope you find your hamster xx

You can try putting a glass to the wall and then holding your ear to the glass to see if you can hear her in the walls.
Also if you have a hard floor no carpet pop a little corn flower down to see if you get any prints from said hammy.
Finally set up a bucket trap for her baited with her favourite treat.

Have you had any luck finding her? The bucket trap is the thing usually recommended

Yes, I was going to advise the bucket trap I was going to explain but the video does it better

You could also try placing her cage on the floor (if possible) near the cooker for one night and seeing if she comes out and goes into that. It's worked for me a couple of times--you may find a hamster curled up in his/her nest by morning.

Thank you to everyone for your tips. Sadly despite following all advice and daily leaving favourite treats and rechecking any potential bolt hole; my daughter's much loved hamster has not returned. It's been more than a week and I don't believe she would have survived this long. Daughter still on a school trip so doesn't yet know. Other hamster is very lonely.

Hamsters have been known to be away for longer than a week or so, there may be hope yet... They are surprisingly tough resourceful little creatures..

I had a Syrian escape and have the time of her life in my walls for 3 weeks. Hamsters are very clever and resourceful. My sneaky girl found water from sweat off the cold water pipes and food from the cat food bowl. My kitten final found her in a old not in use heat vent where she could not get back in the wall after 3 weeks and she is now a captive hamster again. So don't give up yet.
