Default Going on Vacation

Hello!

I am travelling 12 hours away with my family at the end of the month. No one is at home to keep my pets safe. I am wondering; should I bring my ham? I have an extra 20 gallon tank which I believe is suitable. There are no ham sitters near by

A 12 hour journey sounds like a long one. I guess it would mean an overnight stop as well. Is that by car? I think it sounds like you need to stick an advert in something and find someone who will either come in to check on your hamster or have them at their place (depending on how long you're away for).

We're taking a 6 hour break for going there and back. We're staying for 5 days.

Even with the break it sounds like a really long journey. Your hamster would be better staying at home I reckon. 5 days isn't that long, if you could find someone to come round twice (say on the 2nd and 4th day) to change the water and food. Although if it's hot where you are, the water would need changing every day. Have a google of "pet hotels" in your area - some of them do home visits as well as take pets for you for a few days.
