If you move the gerbils into the detolf I believe there's a risk they could declan with all that space. Especially if they've already kicked a member out.

Gerbils need more height really and really deep bedding - they are big tunnelers and climbers I think, so a detolf wouldn't be good for them either. Not that I'm a gerbil expert or anything lol! The hammy would get more benefit of it anyway. As long as the changes were done so there's some familiarity and hidey places and time to settle in.

I could do, but that won't stop them from fighting.

No it wouldn't x Best to do what you said - separate the gerbil and use the hammy set up for it and put the hammy in the detolf.

Omg, I managed to find a detolf for sale about 10 mins from my house (£20, result) and it's massive! It's literally like 5' 4". But I've got that, now to clear a space for it!

Good find. I have seen a few for sale but they are too far away.

Wow I've always wanted a detolf. I've got a Billy Ikea cage instead but if I ever get the chance to get a bigger cage, I'm just gonna attach another Billy. Lids are really easy to make.

Great find! I found one for £15 near me once which was very frustrating as I had nowhere to put it lol! I was searching for "glass tank".
