Default Hamster Exercise Balls

Hi All,

April, our Syrian hamster absolutely loves her hamster ball but she is getting a bit big for her 9inch ball. We bought her a new ball but it looks huge, there is a ferret on the front of the packaging. The ball is 32cm. I think this is way too big.
What does everyone else think?

They sell rat balls as well as ferret balls. Rat balls aren't really suitable for rats but are big enough for an adult syrian whilst not being too big for them to comfortably use. The ferret ball does sound like it may be too big for her. If the ferret ball seems too big and you don't mind spending a bit more money then you could have a look for one of those. They have them here:

Hiya,

Thanks for the reply. That's the one we have but we got it in the 32cm ball. I'm now thinking it might be too big.

Hi I just ordered my Syrian the 25cm rat ball. He has another but although he is small it seems a littlr small for him now! I have had the 25cm rat ball before with a previous hamster, and she was massive, but the ball was a good size!

It seems big when you first get it, but then so do most of the toys my hamster has as he has rat toys lol. But you will get used to it and after a few days it doesn't seem so big ... I will pop on the laptop in a minute and post you a pic if you like?

Mine arrived yesterday!

Here is a pic of a past hammy, Baby Belle, in her 25cm rat ball. The one I got this time was pale blue! I don't think you get to choose the color ...
