As it would be temporary. The benefits of the one in the small cage getting half a detolf would out way the negative of the other getting a smaller space temporarily.
But we may have to agree to disagree on it.
Just seen the latest post about going to IKEA at the weekend. So keeping the hamster in the small cage would be best. Then it only has one cage upgrade.

Re: A new family member
Nova's latest pics made me go all gooey inside, I love her roundness - so perfect! Especially the one of her stretched out.

hehe, I get that every time I see here aha:3 thank you Thinlizzy c:
While i've been putting olive oil on the bars Nova has been testing it out to see if it's tasty and quickly remembers it's not. But she's been getting very oily aha, I can't help but laugh.
Just testing out if my signature will show up.
Made it myself, on photoshop. was pretty fun :3
Not sure if it will show tho

Re: A new family member
I find thick cardboard weaved through the cage bars stops the bar chewing!

Re: A new family member
Update on the cages!!
I now have two detolfs! Nova in one as she is throat active.Yomi and Taro in the other separated by a thick piece of wood cut to size.
Taro might have been used to a whole detolf however, she's quite the lazy one and always seemed to be in one side of the cage anyway, so I decided it would be alright to half the cage. :3

Re: A new family member
I've always thought of this, but you might be able to use tables or something to stack Detolf's to save space!

Re: A new family member
They sure are enjoying it!
I've got the two Detolfs on my table in my room, the table is a little smaller so they do hand off the edge a little bit but it's fine.
Sorry for the bad photos, My phone sucks.
