Default She sleeps ALOT!

I have two hamsters, Brave and Shy. They are my first hamsters ever. I named them for the way they behaved when I first brought them home, about two months ago. They're cute little Russian dwarfs!

Brave is super high in energy. I recently made them a little play place in a long storage container. I put their wheel in there too. I was hoping the extra space would allow them to get all the energy out so we can sleep at night since the wheel is so loud in the cage!

While Shy decided to find a spot to snooze Brave just kept on and on!!

Shy has little energy compared to Brave. She'll sleep and sleep. She might play for and hour or two total in a day but boy does she sleep ALOT!

Or maybe it's just a huge difference to her sisters high energy that makes me wonder which to be worried about...

I put them in their new play place hours ago!! Maybe around 9 or 10 PM. It's 2 AM now and we is still at it. Running in her wheel, getting off, making a full circle around the container and then back on the wheel!

Shy is still sleeping. I opened her cage door and put my hand out but she just stares at it. She idly walks around, sits with her back to me and then goes back to sleep in her tiny house.
She doesn't normally ignore me. Maybe she's unhappy that I moved her back into the cage and away from her sister? She's not even making a move to the open door!

Hi there and Welcome to HC.
Do Shy and Brave live in separate cages?
If they live in separate cages then they shouldn't play together. Once you separate dwarfs they can't be put back together.
Hamsters do tend to sleep more in the colder weather.

Welcome to HC

Shy's behaviour doesn't sound right, I would expect a little dwarf or any ham to be more active at that time, it could be that she's unwell, is she eating, drinking etc ok?
If as you say their names suggest she's always been a little like this it could also be that she is being dominated by Brave & would be happier & more active living alone in her own space.
Do you watch their behaviour in the cage at night to see how they behave when left alone?
If they live together they do need two of everything btw, that means two wheels, houses, water bottles & preferably a cage with no levels, that generally helps prevent one from getting over dominant or territorial.
