Default Bedding

Does anyone know if there's anywhere in the U.K. That sells kaytee soft granule blend bedding? Or if there is a U.K. Version of something similar to this?

Can't seem to find anywhere that stocks it or is in stock if they do, I've never seen it but the photo on the kaytree site looks a bit like megazorb which quite a lot of people use but I found it really, really dusty.

I have a dust allergy and I couldn't walk into the room with the hamster cages without sneezing when I used that stuff.

I want something that's good for digging in, I use carefresh at the moment but it's not great for digging and is a bit pricey, I've seen people in America use aspen but the only aspen I've found here is reptile bedding is this the same stuff?

SMB probably means the kaytee being in the US but megazorb is just as bad imo, gives me really bad asthma!
I use a combination of Fitch & hemp which works really well for digging, you can buy both in large bags so long term it's economical.

Aspen for reptiles is the same as the hamster aspen.

I like Carefresh for its odour properties and softness, but know what you mean about tunnelling. I have found that mixing it with hay gives it much more digability and stops a lot of the tunnel collapse.

I think I read that if you mix 2 or 3 substrates it helps tunnels hold. I use Fitch on it's own and they seem to hold quite well. It's like Carefresh but without the dust and a lot cheaper as you buy it in bulk. The 10kg bag isn't too massive. Ours is in the corner of the bedroom with a throw over it so it looks like a beanbag

The hemp bedding is good as well, as Cypher says (I was allergic to it unfortunately). I wasn't keen on Aspen - seemed spiky. You can also get Finacard bedding (cardboard). So mixing that with Fitch and hemp might help, although I did find Fitch ok for holding tunnels.
