Smile Hamster heaven cage shelves

Hi, i brought some things from viovet including 2 hammocks, which i thought were for hamsters but are reccomended for rats and ferrets, 14"×14" :O i cant fit them along with some other things in my two hamsters cages.

I had an idea too take the green shelves out of both too make more room as i want too add a sand bath as well.

Good idea or not???

If anyone has taken one shelf or both of them out then please post pictures

I always bin the shelves that come with cages & generally use things like houses with flat tops to double up as shelves to put things on & I have some of the corner shelves from Rodipet which are really useful.
The HH isn't that high so if you fill the base with substrate there isn't a lot of room to hang things like hammocks, sand baths can just sit on top of the substrate you don't really need a shelf for that.
I don't seem to have many photos of my HH set ups but I found a few.

Go with cypher's advice Candice. Two HH's in my family ended with both shelves removed. Watch out that with age the ladder is ok. It's pretty steep and slippery.

If you take the green shelf out you'll have room for the bigger wheel My cage is virtually the same as the hamster heaven and there's no room for hammocks lol. Although maybe in the front left corner, with the wheel in the back left corner. I had that for a while, but be careful with rat hammocks as hamsters can chew fleece or material and it can cause blockages. I had a lovely fuzzbutts fleece hammock in and had to take it out again when Charlie started chewing it, so I got a rat sized sputnik instead. These grass hammocks are ok though.

Same one at Amazon

Did you get the 28cm wheel?
