Hello again
Well I have not been on here in a long while.
Milo is 17 months old now and such a cuddle monster, so different from his screaming self as a baby. He loves coming out of his cage and running around on the sofa
I have had to rehouse him in a Savic Bristol as he was falling from the top of his Ruffy 2 more and more poor little guy will hurt himself as he is ageing quickly now
I adopted a second from pets at home adoption section 2 weeks ago. His name is Snowball but he should have been called Fireball because of his hot temper. He is proving hard to tame, he's so feisty. He is 12 weeks old and is now in Milo's Ruffy 2.
It's good to be back, I have had so much uni work to complete but that's almost at an end now

Re: Hello again
the savic bristol is much too small - have you considered a meshed zoozone? They're good for older hamsters, so I've been told

Re: Hello again
Hi Goldstar! Good to see you back. Congrats on Snowball, the little firecracker
Kittokatty, the Bristol isn't awfully small for an aging ham & better that than keeping him in a cage where he'll hurt himself. Some hams are super active even in old age & need a bigger space, others are happier a bit more contained as they get less active. A lot depends on the ham & the amount of out of ache time. I'm sure he'll soon let Goldstar know if he isn't happy & wants a bigger home

Re: Hello again
The savic bristol is 58 x37.6 x 26.8 which does seem on the small size it also costs the same as the (wonderful) barney!!!
The ruffy 2 is 80 x 50 x 38 which is fine but also costs the same as the barney.
I only looked on amazon so it may be possible to get them cheaper elsewhere.
As Velma says, if the hamster is getting a lot of out of cage time and seems contented then thats what matters.
Sounds like you have your hands full with your new addition Goldstar.

Re: Hello again
Thanks everyone
Milo seems fine in the Bristol at the moment, he seems far more alert now he's in there too. If I see that he isn't doing well then I will reconsider housing him in the Bristol. In the Ruffy 2 he hardly came out of his nest and when he did just had some food, a pee, a go on his wheel, climb to the top of the cage, fall off and back to bed.
However, in the Bristol he seems a little more brighter. As I say, if this changes then I will consider moving him.
As for Snowball in the Ruffy 2, it's a great cage and he loves it so far, as did Milo when he was younger. I think I am going to need A LOT of patience when it comes to taming him. He's not afraid, he just seems angry, very cute though

Re: Hello again
Glad that Milo is settled in the Bristol. Does sound like it suits his needs.
Best of luck with taming Snowball! My latest syrian, Gopal, only ever comes out at night lately so I have hardly had any interaction with him (*sob sob*).
Patience patience patience ...
