Default Taming my Robos

Hey guys, so wanted to keep you updated and also get some advice. I haven't posted in a bit due to no internet, but using it at work as its quiet tonight ( yay ), So after splitting my two robos due to fighting, I got the new improved cage for Jaebles today as he was in a temporary one for about a week and a bit

So they have been doing well being apart, no more worrying about fighting, Jables went into his new cage a bit nervous, but he seems ok, he has a area a round triple the size of his temporary cage, many tubes and hiding spots along with toys and a saucer of his own Jaebles and RageKage have the same size cage now aswell which makes me feel a lot better knowing its fair between them.

Jaebles ( the shy one surprisingly, smaller and was in temp cage ) took a treat from my hand for the first time today, it was honestly so rewarding after many failed attempts. RageKage (bigger, bully in fights, braver ) however wasn't too keen, he wandered around my hand and gracefully ignored it without being scared which is still a step

I'm now using the temporary cage as a taming cage, I know that giving treats is a good way of taming, can anyone suggest any other good ways for robos, I found that my Russian drawf was very easy to tame, he let me pick him up within 2 weeks of having him, our Syrian took a little longer but is like a dog now, she chills with you and watches movies, its adorable. But I know robos are the hardest to tame, I'm using a mug to transport them from cage to taming cage which makes me a bit nervous but its the most common method ive seen, any suggestions on better transportation ?

I will be uploading some pictures soon of the new cags and set ups

Stay safe xx

I use a jam jar that is taller than Hector and have my hand over the top. I usually have a sunflower seed or two in the bottom to distract him when I'm transporting him but it's only to the other side of the room. I quite like the jar because I can also use it for a visual health check. It sounds like it's going very well actually. They are a bit of a law unto themselves so I think a lot more unpredictable how they will go with taming. I look forward to seeing the cage setups!

Well done being able to get them into a taming box! My two vanish into their beds at any hint of the cage opening or a hand coming along.

Sounds like you are doing really well. Keep up the good work.

Mine will stay out and about in their cages when I talk to them which is something.

That's actually a good idea, I usually use a form of treat as well but I have the cages right next to each other anyway so its not much of a distance.thanks for the tips,

I've never had bin cages so I'm always very impressed by how different they all are. I'm on my phone so screen is a bit tiny but from what I can see they look good. Quite the hamster city you've got going in there!

You know what, I prefer bin cages a lot more, they are so much better for your money and like you say they are all so different so you really can get different shapes and sizes to fit perfectly in your home which is great. I am hopefully getting my Syrian a glass cage the ikea deltof one soon, just need to get up to ikea. Thanks haha, my family, friends and work colleagues are now all calling me the crazy hamster lady -_- I guess that's fine with me anyway.
