Where do you keep your hamster set-up?
So, Frodo's been with us for just over a week now, and what a week it has been!
Frodo came to us after our previous hammie, Honey, passsed away. I'm still pretty sure she had some underlying heath issues, and we were never sure of her age, but at the end she had gone into torpor. Because of this, I decided Frodo should live upstairs, in case downstairs was too drafty and cold overnight.
Well, in order to make space upstairs, the house was practically turned upside down - not much didn't get moved around in our giant game of tetris! Even the two 2-seater settees got transformed into the corner sofa I'd always wanted!
We settled on Frodo living on the landing, between all of our rooms. It's much warmer up there, day and night - even once the heating has been turned off. No direct sunlight, but plenty of natural light, and handily for us his cage is near the (dim) nightlight.
Have also found it useful to be able to take him into the kids rooms for his playtimes.
Does this sound an ok place to live? Kids were well chuffed Frodo was going upstairs to live, until he found the wheel on his first night! Second night was a nightmare for them not settling once Frodo swung into action on the log, but by the 3rd night they managed to sleep through.

Sounds like a great spot to keep him in, if you can manage the wheel then you can manage anything. With my Hugo I keep him in my room and it stays a constant temperature. I love listening to him on the wheel at night. You have made a great decision on where to keep Frodo.

Upstairs sounds best. Its warmer. All mine are in my bedroom (son is too old to be intersted in them so they are very much my pets). Quite interesting listening to four hamster wheels.
Three are karlie wooden wheels (the fourth is a trixie, getting a new karlie any day now).
Hope Frodo settles in well. Like Harry Hamster, I enjoy hearing them at night rustling round in their cages. Awww.
