I'm really glad I can help with your dwarf taming! I hope my methods work as well for you as they do for me! ♥

Day Two
November 25th 2015 - Day 2
I don't use the taming box for taming all my hamsters, in fact I rarely use it. I just had it for taming my robos! My first three back in 2004-2006; Edward, Jacob and Jasper and then Mozzarella and Ravioli that just recently passed. I always find it works better with more jumpy, nervous hamsters as there is less space so your hamster is encouraged to interact with you! When I do use the taming box with Syrians I usually only use it to encourage the second step. This is as I don't progress from the first until my hamster has at least came up to me to sniff me. Banoffee however was too timid to even sniff in my direction. I always encourage people to take it slow with their hamster however in this case I wanted to know whether it would be helpful to her if we started off in the taming box. Though apparently this worked better for her! She was less nervous in general and even briefly climbed on my hand. I think until she is a bit more confident and she trusts me a bit more we'll be focused in the taming box!
♥ Thank you for reading! ♥

Re: ♥ Banoffee's Thread ♥
November 28th 2015 - Day 5
It's day five and Banoffee has started taking treats from my hand! She is still very timid and is still generally pretty unnerved by my presence however. She has taken to sleeping either behind her wheel or under her small bendy bridge as opposed to her dig box, which I like a lot more because I can keep and eye on her and watch her without having to wait until she is awake! Progress is going slow but that is how Banoffee seems most comfortable so we'll continue going at a very gentle, slow pace! I'm going away for a few days so my dad is going to be making sure there's food and water for Banoffee and my other hamster Dumpling. I'm a little worried that our progress will regress because I won't be able to be consistent with taming. Nevertheless she's starting to warm up to me a little I think!
♥ Thank you for reading! ♥

Re: ♥ Banoffee's Thread ♥
Awww I love her cute little spotty food bowel. I saw them on amazon recently. (Woodstock just has a small ashtray with a wren painted on it so he is sorted).
I really like your taming tips. Being unafraid is a very handy part of the process. When I was a child my first ever hamster was climbing all over me by day two. It never occured to me that he may bite and he never did!
