On a scale of one to ten
Hi
As I was wandering past my local P@H, which is literally just across the road from where we live, I decided to pop in and have a look at the baby Hams (why oh why do I torture myself). In the shop today was a gorgeous fluffy Ham, it looked like a little girl, in Dark Grey and White and it was love at first sight. I still have Ollies old cage which I cannot bear to part with. I wondered, just, on a scale of one to ten just how angry my other half would be if I went back for her? I'm guessing at least a score of 152, I'm either going to have to go back for her and face the on coming Storm or bite the bullet and sell the old cage.

What a dilema

Well, if you can't bear to sell the cage, and it's just taking up space, it may as well have a hamster in it!

Re: On a scale of one to ten
I did this when I got Cleo. I fell in love and I felt so panicky that someone else might buy her & I think that OH could see I badly wanted her on an epic scale and not just my usual level of happily take any of them home, given half the chance.

Re: On a scale of one to ten
remember if you do sell the cage and decide to get another hamster later on you will have to spend more to get a new cage. You are being responsible and saving money by getting another hammy. Also it is always better to ask for forgivness then permission.

Re: On a scale of one to ten
I like to have a "spare" cage for emergencies or holiday situations (a so are definitely a spare. I've told my OH so it just be ) so really, if it's in your house already, it would be a shame to get rid of it......

Re: On a scale of one to ten
Just don't mention it to him quite yet and then just happen to be holding the new baby and be like ... 'oh, btw, isn't s/he cute?!'
NOBODY can resist a baby hamster face and therefore he wouldn't be able to stay angry

Re: On a scale of one to ten
I would have the same problem. Other half would hit the roof! Money, cost, time etc etc and the words 'menagerie' 'lack of self control' and so on. But that would be if I did it without telling first. Obviously if you said can I get another hamster, one needs rescuing he would probably say no.
I'd suggest a firm approach! OH I want to adopt this hamster I've seen, I know you'd rather I didn't but I really want to do this and I didn't want to do it without running it by you first.
Just a suggestion!
Or just get it, and do as Micky says! Or give it to him as a present (evil chuckle).

Re: On a scale of one to ten
I Facetimed a close friend last night and she is desperate to have a cute and furry hammy and already spotted one she likes, the only problem is, yep, you guessed it her other half. I have offered her Ollies old home and a few bits and pieces as rather than sell it to some stranger I would love to see it go to a good home and make my friend very happy. As much as I want the cute fluffy ham in P@H I don't think it would be fair on Bailey, but saying that if I can drag my other half into P@H things could change rather rapidity, lol.
