Bailey I'm the independent Hamster

Hi, one week on, after seeking out baby Bailey, and omg what an Independent Ham, he is the Destiny Child of all Hams. First of all on his arrival, after checking out his fabulous digs, he settled in unbelievably well. I have discovered that he loves Brocolli, not keen on Cucumber, and hates hands due to the fact he thinks he can do anything he wants without the care and supervision of me or my other half and determind to do so. But the little guy is only 8 weeks old and still finding his paws but and I have never come across such an independent Ham. He has never attempted to bite either one of us which is reassuring but for some reason he is not keen on being handled and hoping to break thst spell, and tonight has come on leaps and bounds and fingers crossed he wil love Bailey cuddles.

Bailey is so cute! I'm glad to hear he settled in so well. I think patience and persistence is the way to taming, but other people can give you better advise than I can. Welcome Bailey!

Hi Lancashirelass. Bailey is adorable. 8 week old hammies almost never sit still unless they're sleeping.

It sounds like he's going to be a lot of fun.

Last night we managed to handle Bailey successfully and loved every minute of it. I have come down this morning and he snuffled food out of my hand and wrapped his tiny paws around my finger it was adorable, unfortunately a little education maybe needed as he could not tell the difference between Harry Hamster Food or finger, lol.
