Winston used to come out at the same time as your ham, around 1 am - 3am. Now due to me feeding him veggies at 7pm he comes out around 8-9pm. It takes time and I'd wait until he's settled in fully to start encouraging him to come out earlier

Hi Becca - I am sure that if you start getting into a routine now with Louie, especially with feeding time, he'll pick up on it as he is getting used to his new environment.

As the evenings started drawing in recently, I brought feeding time forward and now my girls will be nagging me for their dinner if I am not busy with it within 15mins of the usual time.

Our hammies like their routines, so I am sure it is just a matter of being strict with yourself with timings of doing things with Louie, even if he's asleep. He'll gradually get used to when you'll be around. I'm still surprised at how accurate my girls' body clocks are. If I have been out and get back after feeding time, I have at least 3 fluffs waiting by their doors for me!

Noisy feeding time is a good way and definitely keeping to some regular times for when you'd like him to be awake will all help. It's too early to assume that he won't be up and about when you are. I'm guessing that he is still young, so he's had a lot to get used to.

Keep us posted on how you are both progressing.
