Hah, what do you know. I tried to post this but I apparently broke the thread. Soooooo here it is

Oh boy have I been very bad for updates. I must apologize, I have a hard time keeping up with everything.

Things have been busy here (obviously) and I very much appreciated all the kind comments on my last thread. x I probably won't post too much about my litters here, maybe if I get some time. Right now I'm sorting out where we're headed, especially given the gal who I was hoping to get some unrelated hamsters from gave me a bad taste in my mouth last conversation we had. We'll see what happens there. Right now my main goal is the establishment of the extreme dilute and yellow up here. We will be getting a car soon, so I might possibly drive down to the US and see what can happen with that.

For now, enjoy our little monkeys.

The oh-so handsome Amaretto, pouching some cooked broccoli. Yum!

Arya debating whether or not red pepper was in fact delicious.

The little minx that is my Banana Split (aka Neenorb, Nanner, etc.). She had me believe she was pregnant for some time. After three failed pregnancies, we've just retired her. That's fine, just means more cuddles! Keeping my eye on any medical complications but so far nothing.

Brulee actually went to live with a friend in Brampton, just north of me. Her little hammy passed away, and I offered her BruBru. He'll be coming back to be bred, but for now he's got a great home, in a detolf, with tons of one on one attention so I'm happy about that!

Cadence is still a pretty chilled out hamster, though she doesn't sleep with me anymore. She's absolutely massive and I'm sure will top Arya size-wise soon.

Caramel is still doing okay, he's not in pain, but he doesn't look great either. We're really surprised he's made it this far. He's over two now! He gets tons of treats and goes nutty for meal worms. Love my sandy puffball.

You guys all saw the cute picture of Dulce. She's such a sweet heart. She wakes up a ton during the day, really anytime she hears me puttering outside her bin. She's getting quite sizeable too. Must be something in the water.

Dusty is still house favourite to the OH, even if he provided no "heirs". I think the plan is to cross him to Dulce at some point, they both have very gregarious personalities and Dusty's head is a bit nicer than Dulce's. Maybe. We'll see.

Java has had quite the adventures as of late. We went to the cottage in September, and just before that we noticed she had some bleeding from her vents. She's on 2x a day enrofloxacin for it, though we fear she has a tumour, as when I palpate I can feel a small lump. She's too old for surgery now, so just comfort care for our little princess. She had quite the ball up north, as my nieces doted on her. She tried popcorn chips, pancakes, and tons of other silly things. Despite not being the healthiest, she's still in great spirits, and continues on making as much noise as hamsterly possible.

The grumpy old man Mocha, he thinks he's still a kid. He's seriously going to outlive anyone. Like Caramel, he's 2yrs+ but he doesn't even care. He needs a nail clip this week and he's definitely going to put up a fight. Lovely little cottonball.

Lastly is Toby (Toblerone, Tobiobi, Tobley, etc.) and he might actually usurp Dusty for being my SO's favourite. He is seriously the most calm hamster ever, and super super sweet. With Brulee out of the house, he's the tiniest pedigree pup, though was the largest in his litter. He's about 174g which is by no means tiny, but comparatively, to my chunky gals who range from about 195-240g he's small.

That's it! Cross fingers I get to introduce a litter in the next few weeks. Phew.

Hi Hekomi

What fantastic photos, your hamsters are always so beautiful but the photos really show them off brilliantly. Thanks for the catch up, it's great to hear how everyone is getting on.
Going back to look at the photos at least a couple more times before I head to bed....lovely to have such wonderful images to take with me. Cuddles to them all.

Just to add:-
Amaretto and that piece of broccoli, so funny and deliciously gorgeous!

Everyone is so adorably delicious. LOL Every time I see Toby I see Habib Mallow. He took on his daddys silly face expressions for sure.

October 20th your beautiful SBH Ahuva at ST's will be having her final litter and this time since I have no Chocolate boys to breed to her I decided to see if she gained her Mom's ED gene and bred her to Bohdan Homo ED Dove. I really wanted to use Avisha to her BUT her size caused a major problem as he couldn't mount her high enough to reach the target. So I should get some prospective pups you may be interested in for your ED and Yellow lines which have enough relation but also a full side of complete Outcross. Though Bohdan is LH Ahuva is pure for short hair so all resulting pups will be SH carrying LH. Bohdan has the same personality you strive for and he is as big as Ahuva so I am expecting some good size pups from this breeding. The breeding was also done to make sure the Cinnamon gene of Ahuva's YB Boy Theo came from his sire and not his dam.

It is rather interesting that Banana Split has either absorbed or didn't take 3 times as her full sister Jaffita has been beyond a doubt pregnant but no pups resulted and all I found was little pieces of pup tissue in her nest and her vent bleeding quite heavily. Vet said she aborted her pups for unknown reasons and said it is common for hamsters that large to not carry pups well. Ahuva is smaller then Jaffita, but still a good size Hamster. I never attempted to breed Jaffita again after what the Vet said as she felt it could be life threatening to breed her again.

Like father like Daughter, Madame Ahuva just after her Midnight fling with Bohdan

WOW WOW WOW! What little beauties you have in your hamster family! They're all so different in their colourings and coats. Arya, Cadence, Dulce and Toby are my faves. I know it's wrong to pick favourites, I love them all but these 4 have truly stolen my heart!

Thank you everyone for your kind words!

Nancy I will chat with Andrew. I'm highly debating bringing Amaretto back in since he's kinda been cut out with no Bananababes. I'll have to tell you about the politics up here...! They're certainly something else. It's actually going very well but no serious breeders (yet!). As I said, they're all relying on me and my fuzzies to produce them some nice little hammies.

My second best bet is giving the wonderful lady at the pet store in Toronto a poke. They moved to a shop that does not carry live animals but she still has connections with many breeders. She recommends us to serious owners, which is so wonderful of her. While I wasn't super thrilled with the quality of the hamsters from the one breeder who offered her some pups (that might have been of interest to me, sadly they weren't) but it may be good if I'm struggling up here of course. Especially since I will receive (though limited) a pedigree from them.

Just to show you How much Bohdan has grown since collecting him This was him after his one night stand with Ahuva.
In my hand

Look at that adorable Nose smudge of Dove. Yes he is missing almost 3/4 of his left ear. He came this way and it is battle scars.

Though you are focused on SH other breeders looking for good LH lines may be amazed at Bohdan's thick and almost Angora rabbit like coat as you can see here though this is and awful photo of Bo
