Hamster heaven vs tank style cage
So I decided on a Sirain hamster which I shall be hopefully in the next few months but I was wondering if the hamster heaven cage (80x50) or a tank style cage I have found online (80x50) would be better. Thanks x

Re: Hamster heaven vs tank style cage
Both have advantages I think, I have a hamster heaven and it's a good size, I like the front opening door and with the tubes there is always the option to add on another cage if you decide to. On the other hand the tank style cages prevent bar chewing and the possibility of climbing bars and falling which is great but they don't have the front opening door so you have to reach in from the top to interact.
There are cheaper barred cages than the hamster heaven too, the alaska is the same size and the barney and alexander are bigger and all are cheaper (or a similar price with the alexander) though they don't come with the option of tubes. Is the tank style cage you're looking at a zoozone 2 by any chance?

Re: Hamster heaven vs tank style cage
I think maybe I will get the hamster heaven as I have just realised the tank that I could afford was 76x45 which is still decent but would rather have my hammy in more space

Re: Hamster heaven vs tank style cage
If you link to it or give a name people will be able to give better advice on pros/cons of them both???
Edit: never mind then! Hamster heaven is a good cage and you get a lot of good quality accessories with it though you will probably need to upgrade to a larger wheel at some point

Re: Hamster heaven vs tank style cage
Sounds like the Kerry Terrarium if it is 75 x 45. Did you see the Barney cage on Zooplus? I reckon that is better than the hamster heaven, and cheaper too (a bit). The Hamster Heaven looks fun but a lot of people end up removing the tubes when hammies start nesting in them, and removing the shelves to fit a syrian sized wheel. The Barney comes with a good sized house, a shelf and a ladder and plenty of space to fit a Syrian sized wheel - it's a great cage. It's only £44.90 at the moment! £15 less than the Hamster Heaven. You could use the extra towards a 27 to 29cm wheel and some toys and chews.

Re: Hamster heaven vs tank style cage
I have a plastic tank style cage for my syrian currently, though a bit smaller to the one you describe, and I'm planning on upgrading it to something like the hamster heaven.
For syrians I personally like barred cages as I find most really enjoy climbing, shelves and hammocks attached to the bars. I think the big door on the front for the hamster heaven is a huge plus, especially when taming a new ham.
Tank style is better if the hamster is in a drafty place in the house though and they do have the benefit of keeping bedding inside the cage

Re: Hamster heaven vs tank style cage
I hate the hamster heaven shelves lol the green one you can't put anything on and the pink one isn't flat so anything you sit on it is liable to slip off. The wooden ones are actually flat and more useful tbh so I wouldn't let that point dissuade you too much.
If you just WANT the hamster heaven I get that too, sometimes you just get a feeling
