Re: 31 Days of October
Apologies for the keeping you waiting today, it's been a busy Sunday with a trip to the airport to collect my parents and since getting home, I have been spending time with the girls and Henry but now I have some time to post today's photos.
For waiting longer than usual, it's a special treat, although edged with sadness. Let me tell the next part of the story....
In May 2014, my house now homed Bracken and Rue. As I mentioned when introducing Rue Bear, that I had been looking on Gumtree and had expected to re-home a dwarf ham but nothing came of the re-homing although I now I had Rue instead. About a month later, I couldn't resist looking again on Gumtree and there I spotted a briefly worded ad about a dwarf fluff which needed a new home. I responded and I got a reply but not about one hamster but two..there was another ad about the second which I hadn't spotted. The woman thought they were females but wasn't sure but they were in separate cages. There was a story but I soon discounted it as it conflicted with what I was told later on.
Anyway, I agreed to take both hamsters and I was given the contact number of where the hamsters were....I made contact, it turned out that the son of the woman I had been communicating with lived with his grandparents and the hamsters had been bought for him, he was 18 but he had no interest and the grandmother, with whom I was now talking, couldn't continue to look after them. So I went immediately to collect them.
When I got to the house, I saw one of the hamsters, a female hybrid but the other didn't want to appear and I didn't want to leave them in a very very smokey house any longer. The grandmother took one cage whilst I took the other, belonging to the hamster that I hadn't seen. It was only as I was taking the cage out that it made a quick dash from it's house and then I saw it was a robo!!
A short drive later and Bindle and Aspen arrived at their new homes, new names for new starts:-

Both girls were given new cages and they both quickly settled in to their new lives. Aspen had originally been in a horrible Habitrail Ovi with no room, Neither of them had much in their cages, so they were of course spoilt rotten.
Neither is with me now but I'll post more pictures of them during the month and tell you more about their characters but it's enough to say for now that they were both gorgeous fluffs, they are together at the bridge and they will always be missed but so fondly remembered & loved.
Here's another of each to keep you going until they appear again in a few days.

Great story with great photos! I'm loving it! It looks like you have a box office success here! The HC members are loving it!
Rue is gorgeous by the way!! She has a face that looks like a robo to me, but I really doubt she is. What kind is she?

Hi virtualKeith - thank you very much, I'm so glad that you are enjoying meeting my girls, officially and finding their stories interesting.
I can't disagree with you about Rue being gorgeous, but then I am very biased. She is a Winter White/Campbells hybrid, as she come from a pet store. She's been out for her morning cuddles and before going back to bed, she decided that her tissue box needed a different view as she moved it! She's fast asleep again now, having had some porridge to keep her strength up.

Thanks fluffymunkins, there'll be more pictures of Rue and the others once everyone has been introduced, just three more introductions to go.
We're not far from each other, I'm guessing.

Re: 31 Days of October
How stunning they all are! I just read the entire thing and I'm eagerly waiting for more!
I love the story behind every single one of them!
I was wondering though, on the first picture of Aspen her fur looks a bit odd and on the second picture it seems normal. Am I making this up? Could be she just had a bad hairday lol
