Default Hamster travel?

Hi guys,

So my fella and I are planning on going home over night this Thursday until Friday night. Since Elsa has recently been ill I don't feel right leaving him, even though since his change to Carefresh bedding he has been flying. Well and all that he seems I still don't like the thought of leaving him without seeing us over night.

We have a smaller cage we first got him in. It's the one we've used for all our vets visits. My question is: Do you think it would be okay / humane to fill that cage up with bedding, house etc and take him down home with us for the night? It's not even a 45 minute drive and Ryan would have him on his knee the entire time. He would be in that small cage over night but as he is being so sleepy right now (recovery and weight loss will do that to you) he doesn't use his wheel much anyway.

We could bring the ball down with us so he could at least get a run around the floor at Ryan's parent's.

I understand a lot of people don't suggest traveling with them - just wanted some opinions on it.

I think he should be okay if it's just overnight, any more than that I wouldn't recommend you take him. While you're in the car just remember nothing heavy (Food dish, large toys, heavy houses, etc.) and some cucumber would be a lot better than a water bottle.
