What a difference to the beginning of this thread!
He sounds as though he's thoroughly enjoying life, why they do that launching into midair thing I have no idea but a lot of them do! All his behaviour sounds like a normal, happy young ham
I think when they're out exploring treats just aren't that high on the agenda but I'm sure he still knows your hands mean good things.

Thought I would give an update on Chocky. No sign of timidness any more. We let him roam in the living room when we watch telly in the evening (even hubby does it but I suspect this is only because otherwise he cannot hear the telly as the plotting rascal starts running in his rather noisy wheel to protest... the plotting rascal being the hammie).

Chocky has explored the ground level in the living room and now does his best to go up in the world. Had to rescue him from bookshelves, wedged between the box with his stuff and the shelf above it. Sofa no safe place anymore. Yesterday had to take him off the top of the radiator while he was trying to climb up the curtains to the windowsill.

As we often let him go up the stairs onto the landing, he gets very annoyed when the door is closed and caused damage to the floor and door paint already trying to dig a tunnel there. He generally hates closed doors and will dig very indignantly when he thinks his rights are being violated. If I try to put my arm in the way he will wedge himself behind it and try to push my arm away from the door so he can continue digging...

My daughter made a little cardboard teepee for him, and we put in on the shelf in his cage. He then gets inside, lifts it and pushes it around till it falls to the ground level. Seems to love doing it.

Generally he will only consider us as the lift from the cage to the fun places, however when he is out for a long time I think he gets bored and condescends to interact with us. So you will suddenly find him sitting next to you on the sofa or running over hubbie's legs.

So all good here. Still trying to get a routine with cleaning and giving him extra veg and proteins etc but generally all happy I think, including the furry friend

Sounds as though he's having a wonderful time & is now a very confident little guy with you all wrapped right around his little paws! Just the way things should be of course

That's so good to hear thanks for the update. You all are an excellent hamily all around. I'd love to see a pic or vid of the teepee trick! And be careful with the radiator, remember Spike!
