That's such a shame about the Borneo XL not shipping Serendipity, it looks perfect

I'm not sure that taking the glass out of two detolfs would work Ruby, with the way the glass slots into the end caps there would be a gap. Unless you shaved down the end caps maybe or made your own and just used the glass. That's good bit of diy though and at the stage it might be easier to look into an acrylic supplier. I ordered enough 6mm transparent acrylic for six 90x60x60cm tanks for a uni project (ended up not happening) and it was under £300 so less than £50 each?

The one that you linked that Cypher has looks great, though still expensive! At some point, I'd love to upgrade Hubble. I'm also thinking of adopting a hamster in another 6 months or so, and I'll need another cage then. Detolfs are great, but I think I prefer barred cages over tank-style cages for the access and ease of interaction. I don't understand why it's so hard to find larger barred cages for hamsters in the UK. Basically, I want the one I have (the Savic Sky), only a little taller, about twice the length and maybe a little wider! Though can you imagine how much space that would take up? Haha. Really, I just want a hamster room. The Alexander and Barney are both great, but it feels silly to go to the trouble of upgrading for just 20cm more length.
