Where do you get your hamsters?

Pixie was from P@H, she was my first and I didn't know any different. She was the only one awake and was monkey barring across the top of the cage, I thought she was great fun so chose her.

This time round I wanted to get one from the adoption centre and after making my bf drive me round 3 stores without any syrians in the adoption centres I fell in love with Nelly and bought her from the usual tanks. Had about a 20 minute moral debate in my head though as I was adamant I was only adopting and I didn't know what to do!

I always make the mistake of choosing the one thats the most active, Nelly was desperate to get out of the tank and so she ended up coming home with me and I'm sure she is actually an evil demon, plotting to take over the world

More of my pets was from adoption. I don't buy animals in pet shops because it is bad business. Main problem are to small cages and lot pets. Exception are registered breedings where they know genetic and take care of hamsters.

I get my hamsters from my local petshop, have been getting them for 16 years.
Not all Petshops are bad. The one I go to are really great.

There aren't any independent pet shops around me that I'd buy a live animal from, though I don't doubt decent ones exist. I bought River from P@H but I don't want to do that again. The next one I buy will hopefully either be at a show or adopted, but I can't rule out I'll see one in P@H and fall in love
