I use a Ferplast Sippy Bottle too, it has suckers to stick to the glass. It worked fine until Nelly climbed onto it and chewed the suckers! Now she has a bowl of water :P

A bottle stand is a good idea, but wouldn't recommend the Living World one as it is huge! Even the small size is huge. I have one from Rodipet and Amazon sell a similar one from Getzoo, both of which come from Germany so postage is a bit more than usual, or there's the tree one that comes with the Critter camp out set (I think it might need to stand on something so the spout isn't too low). Links below - the two wood ones come with one of the small classic mouse bottles, which I really like, they're just right for a hamster and very cheap to buy so I keep a couple of spares - and they work better than most I've tried. Or - you can make a bottle stand - there are various methods for home made ones I think.

Anyway here are the other three I mentioned (two actually, the Getzoo one isn't available on Amazon any more)

Superpet Critter Camp-Out Set: Amazon.co.uk: Pet Supplies

It's the thing that looks like a tree - you have to buy the whole set to get the water bottle stand.

The Rodipet one converts in £ to about £10 and postage is about £7 so it's not that cheap.

I have to be honest that I hadn't seen the Living World one myself so had no idea on sizing or anything.

It's a good job I didn't buy one for May's bin cage.

Thanks all!

The digging box has an entrance at the bottom of one of the sides and also the big hole on the top, so there is enough space for ventilation - and he does have another place he could make a nest if he wanted, so I guess he's fine and I needn't worry!

I'll look into the dwarf food mixes. I did want to try and keep them both on the same base mix but obviously if Joey can't eat it, he needs something else. I'll see how he gets on with the addition of the stuff from Rat Rations which should be here tomorrow I reckon.

I've made a make shift water bottle stand for now but will look to buy a proper one!

Yes, Rupert loves his new wheel! And guess what, no peeing in it
