Default Taming tips for 1st time owner please?

Hi i have posted before about my campbells dwarf and understand that taming takes a lot of patience and time, but i have been trying techniques i have read about - toilet roll tube, putting food on the palm of my hand but she always bites and i cant even get close to do these things. Please any other tips i am tring hard but feel like im getting nowhere.

Can you pick her up at all? Is she still bitey when away from the cage?
We have had a few dwarfs who constantly seem to 'feel you with their teeth'! They never actually bite down but will take the skin in their teeth. Some just lick. She may just be one of these hamsters and if she seems steady and calm when you hold her it may just be her way of investigating the world!
Some people have found that using the antibacterial hand gel before handling discourages biting. Try and see if she is biting down. Be brave and persevere with the hand to hand running maybe in an empty bath or safe place she cannot escape from if she does do a runner.
I am sure you will get there. Dwarfies are quite independant and like to be on the go snuffling around.

I have found with Campbells they are either nippy or they aren't. Some are worse than others and they seem to use their teeth to investigate more than other breeds.
Have you tried putting her in an exercise ball for a short while before handling her.
Also when they do nip try blowing gently into their face so they learn nipping brings something unpleasant. It may take a couple of weeks but your Campbells should hopefully soon learn.
Good Luck

campbells can be very territorial in their own cage so try and get her out into neutral surrundings first, but the best advice is def to keep trying - some hams just take longer than others, treats are great to buy friendship from a hamster but getting used to your voice and smells are key and unfortunately that takes time.
