Default any advice how to hold my new hamster ?

Hello all me back again .

I´m simply in love with my new hamster, he was bought in a local German petshop and I can tell they do take good care of theirs animals because he is such a peace.

It has been 1 week that I own this new Hamie, he is just adorable he is definitely a calm Climber type he is always hanging himself in the most unimaginable places on the cage, he likes as-well to change where he sleeps, now he is switching between houses or just on the corner of the cage and digging a big whole on the bedding.

Since the first day, he would be greeting us, and never seemed scared.
I´m more and more trying to hold him, yesterday was the first time I could touch him without he running away, he is in love with carrots, yesterday I gave one and he was so confident, he was literally hanging on my hands trying to take the whole carrot out.

the thing is that I´m not managing to make him eat inside my hand, or grab him, once I lie my hand flat down he really gently bite the tips of my finger making clear I should just give the threat and get out, yesterday I could caress him for 2 seconds, he somehow is showing more and more signs that he want to be peted and he is missing affection but on the other side he is a bit scared of this new things, but definitely not us.

another cool thing he do is that before I go to work, he always wake up and come say hello, stay awake till we have breakfast 30m. and than go back to sleep, to wake up in the evening when I´m back.

I´m sure you guys passed before me and have some real good tips for me, how i could tame this ferocious beast and transform on a lovely creature

Thank you very much

A week is still early days so don't be in too much of a rush with taming him, he's seems confident so it probably won't be long before he'll climb into your hand, don't try to grab him though or you'll just scare him! If he's biting your finger tips try burying them in the substrate so he can just get to your palm. Otherwise try scooping him out with a big mug or ball if he'll climb into that then let him climb onto your hand from there, sometimes they are less inclined to bite or nip out of the cage.
Have you tried taking him into the bath with you so he can safely run around on you? That's usually a good way to get them used to being handled.
If you haven't done it already try the tissue trick too, putting a tissue up your sleeve for a few hours then put it in the cage & repeat that for a few days so he becomes used to having your scent in the cage.
