Pumpkin and the Dwarves
I wanted to set up a thread for my wee beasties. Since I have a Syrian and two dwarves I thought it would be better to post it in 'Hamster Chat'... So, introductions!
First is my baby Pumpkin, I got her on 11th April this year at 10 weeks old so her birthday is probably around the 31st Feb. She came home skittish but is now energetic, friendly and will run at you and climb up your arms to be let out of her cage.

She's also been taking advice from some of the other hamsters at HC and it becoming more and more of an escape artist when she free roams but I'll post some more photos of that later...
Here she is ommming at a strawberry

Re: Pumpkin and the Dwarves
Awwww that first photo of Pumpkin is sooo sweet, she looks so innocent there but looks like a real loveable handful in the other photos! That's quite a barrier you've got there lol!
Little Dina looks super cute too
I had to look at all the photos, couldn't help myself
ETA I think that must have been Haneen not Dina I was looking at the photo caption changed, I'm just too impatient for photos lol!

Re: Pumpkin and the Dwarves
I recently adopted 2 dwarves. To me they look like winter whites but since they were probably bought from a standard chain pet store they're most likely hybrids. I'm 100% certain they're from the same litter because their markings are so similar it's taken me a while to tell them apart (aside from the obvious - they're in different cages lol).
They came from a lovely owner with very little hamster experience who's landlord wouldn't let her keep them. They were initially housed together and fort and are now living alone quite happily. Oh and they came to me as girls... But are actually boys so their names are a little effeminate but it suits them nontheless
First up is little Haneen! He picked on his little brother (who was visually terrified of him) and is quite a territorial and feisty little guy. When he first moved out of his original owners house, as I was putting new toys and extra substrate into his cage he would wander up to me, completely unafraid, put both front paws on my finger/ hand and bite down hard! My little guy is ballsy enough to think he can take on a giant hand!! lol Now he's fine for playtime but still nibbles in the cage. I think the move probably just stressed him out.
This is him having some food (I have a really cute video of him fighting with a tissue but cant get it to upload properly but will post once I can).

Re: Pumpkin and the Dwarves
And finally this is my littlest and scardiest hamster called Dina. He still runs away from everything!! (Everything!!!) but if you're slow and careful and he knows you're there he comes over and will sit on your hand. I'm fairly certain he's a little bit smaller than his brother and has lighter coloured fluff around his face but regardless of looks this little fluff has me hook line and sinker with his personality. He's a nervous, gentle and beautiful little guy.
This is him enjoying his foodbowl. I have to admit it's not the greatest photo of him, I think he's actually a lot cuter face to face!!!

This is his cage set up... I kept all his food/ wheel etc close to the entrance of his bed because he didn't like coming out at first be he's a lot braver now (only in the secrecy of the night of course!) Oh and he's loved his sandbath from the first day! I really want to get a video of him rolling around in it but he's still too skittish lol

Re: Pumpkin and the Dwarves
Haha thanks Cypher, yes Pumpkin is such a handful!! Her barrier is so much bigger now and yet she still keeps finding ways to get out! (It got so big my boyfriend couldn't get over it anymore haha, it may not be hamster proof but it's definitely boyproof!) She rarely sits still unless she's eating or grooming in her toilet house... She's also taken to monkey barring across the top of her cage (which terrifies me!!) so I wound strips of paper over the roof and she's been enjoying tearing them apart every night...
I don't have many photos of the dwarves yet but have such a good video of Haneen!!!

Re: Pumpkin and the Dwarves
Awww love that little face!
I have problems with Photobucket vids too, whether they're my own or other peoples's sometimes they work mostly they don't! I just stick to youtube for vids now.
Did you know that if you copy the link to the right of your photo where it says share links then at the bottom img. & paste that in your message the photo will show up here.

Re: Pumpkin and the Dwarves
I know right! He looks a wee bit aloof though doesn't he?
Oh thank you Cypher!! I've been trying to figure out how to get the photos to show up!! That's kinda weird about photobucket... I might follow your lead and switch to youtube too then
