Default Drama drama!

I definitely have a crafty so and so on my hands!
Not half an hour ago I was doing some taming with Syd (I've had him three days now and have been constantly talking to him so I thought I'd give it a go) he was taking treats off me fine and even putting his paws on my palm! He had bitten me earlier and broken the skin, but I just decided to get back on the horse.
However he'd managed to jump up onto his comfort wheel, climb up out of his cage and fell back first onto the floor. I managed to grab him and pop him back no problem. However I imagine that being somewhat stressful.
Then my genius boyfriend when I was cooking dinner, decided he might get it out of his system if we popped him in his ball. Mistake number 2. The lid wasn't secure. He managed to trap him under the ball and slip a piece of card under him to get him home safe. But I imagine that to be incredibly stressful!
I'm not sure what to do as regards to taming now; my first instinct is to carry on chatting to him and just leave him be for another three or four days and start again. Anyone have any suggestions?
I do feel awful for my poor baby
I have also since switched out his wheel for the flying saucer. Of which he cannot seem to get enough of

I would lay of the taming for a few days, he's had a couple of frights.
Continue talking to him but let him be. He'll soon come round.

I agree take a step back for a couple of days, just keep talking to your ham & go by his behaviour he may need some time to settle again after all that! If he seems keen then go slowly & carefully, could you make or buy a playpen of some sort so you can interact with him & he can run around in safety.
It might be a good idea to have a large tube, ball or cup or something you can scoop him into when you open the cage, they can move so fast it's often the safest way to get them out without accidents happening!
