Re: Ham sitter for May half term
It means Serendipity that you, your partner and boy won't have to rush back to your hotel/lodgings at set times. Charlie can charm Reach lol!
Are you staying in hotels or self catering?

Re: Ham sitter for May half term
We're renting a house self catering but staying in a youth hostel the first night as the ferry goes very early, and doing similar on last night. Can't afford hotels lol. The hostel is fine and very near the ferry terminal. If it was a shorter journey and straight into a house for a week I might have just taken him with us, but with a long journey and overnight stop each way it would have been a palaver and 2 different places for him - plus a ferry journey, so not great really - not to mention the amount of stuff we'd have had to take. I am sure Charlie will have a nice little holiday with Rach! I shall still have to babysit some nights but we'll take it in turns probably.
Little (not so little) boy's feet have suddenly grown so he needs new shoes for the holiday and school now as well urgh!.

Re: Ham sitter for May half term
Self catering is more suitable, all you need is somewhere that's clean and comfortable, I've never stayed in a youth hostel, but plenty people do it. Hotels are way too expensive.
Charlie's better off not going with you, I too think it would be a bit stressful for him, and he's going on his own holiday now. Don't forget to send him a postcard lol!

Re: Ham sitter for May half term
Charlie will have a wonderful time at RachK's, she's lovely! You, Serendipity, will be able to enjoy your holiday fully knowing that Charlie is in excellent hands.
What a shame that you weren't able to get along to the Topcliffe show afterall, as you would have met RachK and myself then. There will be other opportunities I'm sure.
So pleased that you have found a solution for the May half term and that 3 people offered. So great to belong to a caring forum.

It certainly is! Yes it's annoying I couldn't get to the Topcliffe show and meet you both, but I shall be meeting RachK very soon!

I'm looking forward to meeting him. And since Serendipity is dropping him off, she can meet my lot too.

I bet. I'm so pleased that you'll both be meeting up very soon. Holmes and Elynor need to see each other occasionally and their aunties as well as the other fluff family members, hehe. I don't head north very often though.
