Re: Another scared hamster...
Good to hear there's nothing physically wrong with him, hope he settles again soon.

Re: Another scared hamster...
Still worried, all day when awake he squeaks. Although beginning to sound like he is crying. Oh thinks he is missing our female hamster she mistakenly put him in the wrong exercise ball he went crazy Squeeking and wouldn't come out as it smelled of her, hope he settles soon.

Re: Another scared hamster...
I haven't got any wise thoughts to offer but just curious, what sort of hamster is he?

Re: Another scared hamster...
I had a friend who had two Syrians for a while, a girl and a boy, obviously in separate cages but she said they had a really strong bond despite that and liked to touch noses and call to each other if she put one next to the other's cage. Maybe youre' right and yours is missing his buddy.

Re: Another scared hamster...
2 weeks later he is still squeeking away, we had to take his ledge out didn't want to as he seems to prefer it but he got his foot caught again and started screaming at me, luckily he got himself free just as I opened the cage. Daft thing keeps trying to lift his body up onto the roof while dragging his lower feet across the ledge, when he falls he gets caught.
I've put a wedge of cardboard where the ledge was he seems to like this as it gives him a proper hidey place, but still squeeking. Wish we could help him.

Re: Another scared hamster...
Well success at last, no more squeeking. I admit I had had enough yesterday, I could of put him in the spare room, but I got some vicks vapour rub and floated the tub over his cage instantly he stopped squeeking. Left it by his cage for an hour, then put it away.
Got up today and nothing back to silent hamster, he has been up tonight running around climbing, beginning to think he was just blocked up.
Its nice to have him back to normal!
