Noise When Sleeping
I wasn't sure where to post this thread so forgive me if it's on the wrong place. Anyway! This isn't me complaining about the noises my hamster makes when I'm trying to sleep but rather the other way around! I was wondering if it's necessary a hamster has a quiet room during the day? Rue is in my bedroom and I'm in there a lot of the day. People are in and out, I play music and sing along (badly) etc and from what I can tell she just sleeps through it all until she decides it's time to get up and she wants attention. So is that okay? Should I only be worried if it seems to disturb her or could I be disturbing her without realising?

Re: Noise When Sleeping
That sounds fine to me, we spend a lot of time in the same room as our pets and they all just leave us to it, it doesn't bother them in the slightest

Re: Noise When Sleeping
Hamsters get use to noises and to the noises we make. It would be silly to walk about on our tiptoes to avoid making noise. Some noises can be scary for them at first but, when they hear it again and again they adapt.

Re: Noise When Sleeping
All my hamsters are in my lounge, so they have to manage with the tv, music and conversation when I have guest or I'm talking to myself, lol.
I make sure that the volume of the tv and any music is never too loud but I haven't noticed that any of the fluffs are bothered. They all have their different routines, regardless of what I am doing. They aren't even bothered when Henry the budgie comes to stay and chirps etc all day.

Re: Noise When Sleeping
Skittle's cages are permanently in the living/dining room. We have even vacuumed around him while he's fast asleep and he hasn't woken up. They're like babies; if they're tired they'll sleep no matter how noisy it is!

Re: Noise When Sleeping
Mine even have to put up with my singing, although I don't inflict this on them too often!
