2 New Hamsters (photos)
I got my 2 new hamsters tonight.
Both female, neither has a name yet...and I suck at thinking of names.
Most of my females have had drink derivative names (pops, alcohol etc).
The black is super active and crazy. This is the only decent picture I got of her.
The Yellow-Blue Umbrous is more nervous and timid and therefore sits still more.

Re: 2 New Hamsters (photos)
Aww, thanks for the pics, they are so cute!
We tend to name ours based on markings or their personality, preferably personality but sometimes it can take a while for a hammy to come out of his/her shell so this can be tricky. Like HB our newer Chinese ham was stuck with Little Miss Adventurous for a couple of weeks as she is so unafraid of anything & escaped from everything. Then one night we were woken by a rattling noise from the cupboard, I went to investigate & found she had escaped her bin cage, wondered into the bedroom & had found a pencil which she was trying to drag into the cupboard. If it weren't for the pencil we'd never have known she was out, she could've been running around the house for hours. Hence her name HB as she was caught by her pencil.
Our male Syrian is called Rollin as he has fantastic markings on his back that reminded me straight away of cowboys with those ginger/white hides. So instead of Rawhide, we called him Rollin (Rollin Rollin).
Not sure if this has given you any ideas or just confused you! Anyway welcome to your beautiful new Syrians!

They're gorgeous! Those are great pics! The first one had me immediately thinking of Mr. Mistoffelees . . OK it would need to be Mrs Mistoffelees. . .
Which brings me to something I've wondered about Hamster names-- do you think they have a secret name like cats?

They are both gorgeous. How about 'Liquorice' (liquorice is black and sounds like alcohol lol!) for your black ham. The grey coloured one makes me think of Mink. Minky?

Re: 2 New Hamsters (photos)
I took the photos with my DSLR through the glass of the tanks they are in. I really love the camera for that - the flash doesn't really seem to catch the glare of the glass when it goes off.

If I'm right:

I think I saw Bill post her picture in the group, and she's lovely. Both are. I really wish we could send you out a male though we don't really have any available (technically). It's a shame BC is so far from Ontario!
